Understanding Life Processes: The Bridge Between Structure and Function in Homoeopathic Practice

About the Department

The Department of Physiology at S. M. Deo Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital teaches the dynamic functions of the human body, integrating normal physiology with biochemical processes. It forms a crucial foundation for BHMS students (First & Second Professional years), helping them understand how vital force maintains health and how deviations lead to disease.

The curriculum covers general physiology, systemic physiology (nerve-muscle, blood, cardiovascular, respiratory, etc.), special senses, endocrine, reproductive, and biochemistry – all correlated with homoeopathic concepts like susceptibility, vital reaction, and miasmatic influences.

Practical training includes hematology experiments, clinical examinations, and demonstrations to build diagnostic skills essential for homoeopathic case analysis and remedy selection.
