Department of Pathology

Understanding Disease Processes: Bridging Diagnosis and Homoeopathic Therapeutics

About the Department

The Department of Pathology at S. M. Deo Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital provides BHMS students (mainly Second & Third BHMS) with a thorough understanding of disease mechanisms, structural and functional changes, and laboratory diagnosis. It forms the bridge between basic sciences and clinical homoeopathic practice, helping students correlate pathological changes with miasmatic expressions, susceptibility, and remedy action.

The curriculum includes general pathology, systemic pathology, hematology, clinical pathology, microbiology, immunology, and histopathology – with emphasis on interpreting reports for accurate case analysis and homoeopathic management.

Practical training involves microscopy, blood/smear examination, urine/stool analysis, and histopathology slide study, enabling students to differentiate normal from diseased states and support evidence-based homoeopathic prescribing.
